The Indonesia Marine & Cruise Tourism Conference will be held on 25 July 2026 at Makassar Tourism Polytechnic and online. Bringing together representatives from government, academia and the private sector, the conference will address marine tourism, cruise operations, port management and innovative practices in the industry.
The Indonesia Marine & Cruise Tourism Conference will take place in a hybrid format on 25 July 2026. Hosted by Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, the event will also be accessible to online participants.
Covering various aspects of marine and cruise tourism, the conference will bring together government officials, academics, representatives of port and cruise operators, and executives from tourism organisations.
Among the conference speakers are Ir. Martini M. Paham, Deputy for Resources and Institutions at Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, and Dr. Sartono Hutomo, a member of Commission XII of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia.
Dr. Herry Rachmat Widjaja, Director of Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, which will host the event, will also address the conference. The maritime and port management sector will be represented by Aprianus Hangki, Head of the Harbour Master Office and Port Authority of Benoa, Bali.
Academics and Industry Representatives to Meet
Private-sector speakers include I Gede Wiratha, CEO of Bounty Cruise Bali, and Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Astina, CEO of Balindo Marino Services.
International academic participants include Prof. Dimitrios Buhalis, Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Review and the Encyclopedia of Tourism Management and Marketing, and Prof. Michail Toanoglou, Academic Director of IMHI at ESSEC Business School in France.
Johanna Fischer, founder of Transformation in Practice and a pioneer in water innovation from Germany, is also among the conference speakers.
The programme will additionally feature Prof. Ni Made Eka Mahadewi of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, under Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, and Ratna Soebrata, Secretary-General of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s Bali and Nusa Tenggara Chapter.
