Advances in Hospitality and Tourism Research (AHTR) is inviting submissions for a special issue titled “Digital Tourist Behaviour,” examining technology-enabled decision-making in hospitality and tourism. The manuscript deadline is December 30, 2026, with publication anticipated in June 2027.
The special issue will explore how digital environments influence travellers’ information searches, trust, perceptions of risk, booking decisions and experiences after purchase. Topics include artificial intelligence, personalised recommendations, social media, online reviews, mobile booking, immersive technologies and conversational tools such as chatbots. Research addressing privacy, consumer autonomy, accessibility and ethical data practices is also welcomed.
Contributions may be conceptual, empirical, methodological or review-based. The call welcomes quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method, experimental and interdisciplinary approaches, with submissions expected to demonstrate clear theoretical contributions and practical relevance.
Manuscripts must be original, written in English and submitted through the AHTR online submission system. Authors should identify the special issue in both their cover letter and the system’s “Author’s note to the Editor” section. Submissions are subject to editorial screening and double-blind peer review.
AHTR is the international scholarly journal of Akdeniz University’s Faculty of Tourism.
