Athens to Host 23rd Annual International Conference on Tourism in June 2027

Academic Events

The 23rd Annual International Conference on Tourism will take place on 7–12 June 2027 in Athens, Greece. Organised by the Tourism, Leisure & Recreation Unit of the Athens Institute, with sponsorship from the Athens Journal of Tourism, the event will bring together academics and researchers from across tourism studies.

The conference welcomes contributions on tourism economics, policy, geography, management and marketing, alongside hospitality operations, sports tourism, education, culture, arts and leisure. Its broad scope encourages exchange across disciplines and research approaches.

Researchers may participate as paper presenters, session chairs or organisers of specialised academic sessions. Abstract decisions are normally communicated within four weeks.

According to the organiser’s provisional schedule, paper sessions will occupy the first two days, followed by cultural visits and further academic discussions during the remainder of the week. The detailed programme will be published closer to the event.
