Azerbaijan Health Tourism Conference 2026 to Focus on Medical and Wellness Tourism
-
02 Oct, 2026
The Azerbaijan Health Tourism Conference 2026 will be held in Baku on 4–5 November 2026. An initiative of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the conference will bring together public institutions, healthcare and wellness providers, travel agencies, medical-tourism facilitators, retreat operators, investors, international experts and destination-development organisations.
Following the inaugural conference in Shusha in 2024 and the continuation of the initiative in 2025, the 2026 edition will focus on practical partnerships, international visibility and closer integration among healthcare, wellness, tourism and destination-development stakeholders.
The programme is divided into two full-day segments. The Medical Tourism Dialogue, scheduled for 4 November, will examine strategic planning, patient trust, market intelligence, international patient demand, sales and international cooperation. The Wellness Tourism Dialogue on 5 November will address Azerbaijan’s natural healing resources, wellness-consumer trends, hospitality, investment opportunities and the development of competitive wellness destinations.
Programme discussions will also consider the repositioning of sanatoriums for contemporary travellers, the transformation of natural resources into premium wellness products, international business cooperation and the establishment of an incoming health-tourism network. Particular attention will be given to Naftalan oil, mineral and thermal waters, therapeutic landscapes and resort development.
The conference forms part of Azerbaijan’s broader effort to establish a coordinated health-tourism ecosystem encompassing medical treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, wellness, balneotherapy and nature-based experiences. Its longer-term objectives include strengthening cooperation among service providers, supporting sectoral strategy development, promoting public well-being and expanding international partnerships.
Prospective participants may submit an expression of interest during October 2026. The organisers have not announced a specific closing day. Pre-registration does not guarantee admission; places are limited, and accepted participants will receive separate confirmation by email.
Further information is available on the official Health Tourism Conference website. Expressions of interest may be submitted through the pre-registration form.
