Current Issues in Tourism Announces Manuscript Deadline for Special Issue on Sustainable Development Goals

Academic News

Current Issues in Tourism has set 1 December 2026 as the full manuscript deadline for its special issue, “A Decade (2015–2025) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Trends, Reflections, and Realignments in Hospitality and Tourism Research.”

The issue examines tourism and hospitality’s progress towards the SDGs, implementation challenges and future research priorities. Empirical contributions must identify specific goals and evaluate actual interventions, practices or outcomes. The detailed submission requirements exclude purely conceptual studies and research limited to attitudes or intentions.

A limited number of systematic reviews will also be considered. These must follow PRISMA guidelines, explicitly map findings to particular SDGs and employ bibliometric or comparable analytical tools.

The editorial team comprises Edmund Goh, Jun Wen, Siamak Seyfi, C. Michael Hall and Xin-Jean Lim.

Prior abstract approval is required before proceeding to full manuscript submission. The published abstract deadlines—1 May 2026 for systematic reviews and 1 July 2026 for full papers and research notes—have already passed. Publication is planned for late 2027.
