The Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting 2026 will take place in Brussels on 9–10 November, bringing together ministers, investors, financial institutions and destination leaders to discuss tourism investment, security and resilience.
The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium will host the two-day gathering. Organisers anticipate more than 2,000 participants and 120 speakers, alongside a partners’ pavilion covering over 400 square metres. The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation among government, industry and academia in support of sustainable tourism growth.
Investment and Destination Development
The first day will examine investment flows, project financing, hospitality development and the infrastructure needed to attract capital. Sessions will address how destinations can turn tourism strategies into financeable projects, combine public and private funding, and incorporate climate resilience into development.
Transport connectivity, green finance and cooperation between governments and investors will also feature in the programme.
Security, Resilience and Traveller Trust
The second day will focus on security as a factor in destination competitiveness. Topics include border management, digital travel credentials, cybersecurity, major-event security and aviation.
Further discussions will consider crisis communication, destination reputation, public-health emergencies and climate-related disruption. Across these sessions, the programme will explore how destinations can maintain accessibility while strengthening traveller and investor confidence.
The meeting is expected to conclude with the Brussels Agenda for Tourism Investment and Security, setting out priorities emerging from the discussions.
