ICTR 2027 Opens Call for Papers in Tourism Research

Academic Events

The 10th International Conference on Tourism Research (ICTR 2027) will take place on 29–30 April 2027 at César Ritz Colleges Switzerland in Brig. Organised by Academic Conferences and Publishing International (ACPI), the event is planned as an in-person conference with an option for participants to join virtually.

ICTR 2027 will provide a multidisciplinary platform for academics, researchers, postgraduate students and tourism professionals to discuss recent developments, challenges and innovations in tourism. The conference seeks to connect theoretical research with professional practice while examining the economic, social, cultural, technological and environmental dimensions of tourism.

The conference welcomes academic research papers, case studies, work-in-progress papers, doctoral and master’s papers, posters, presentations and practitioner contributions. Abstracts should be 300–350 words and must be submitted by 7 October 2026. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by 21 October 2026, and full papers selected for review must be submitted by 26 November 2026.

Conference subjects include tourism management and marketing, sustainable tourism, tourism economics, cultural and heritage tourism, technology, policy and governance, globalisation, society, education and crisis management. Specialist mini-tracks will address the circular economy, health and wellness tourism, human-centred artificial intelligence, workforce well-being, female entrepreneurship, culture and identity, and tourism data spaces.

Papers accepted following double-blind peer review will be published in the open-access conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The proceedings carry ISSN 2049-9870 and will receive an ISBN upon publication. They will also be submitted for consideration by indexing and accreditation services, including Scopus and the Web of Science Conference Proceedings Citation Index; indexing is not guaranteed. Presented papers may also be developed further and submitted independently to associated journals under their respective editorial procedures.

The conference will be accompanied by the finals of the 2nd Teaching Hospitality and Tourism Excellence Awards.

Further information is available on the official ICTR 2027 webpage and the Call for Papers page.
