The 2026 Greater Bay Area and China–ASEAN Tourism Research and Education Forum will take place on 30 November 2026 at the Taipa Campus of Macao University of Tourism, Macao SAR, China. The programme will feature keynote presentations, parallel sessions, roundtable discussions, and outstanding paper awards.
The forum forms part of RTCP-GCAT 2026, a joint programme running from 27 to 30 November across Hengqin and Macao. Organised by Macao University of Tourism and the School of Tourism Management at Sun Yat-sen University, the event will explore the theme “New Paradigms for Future Regional Tourism: Intelligence & Creativity.” Activities in Macao on 29 November include a young scholars’ training camp and a cultural and tourism resources tour, both requiring reservations.
Researchers interested in the China–ASEAN forum should select Parallel Session 6 or 7 in the submission system. Session 6 addresses regional connectivity, cross-border cooperation, tourism integration, and crisis governance. Session 7 examines tourism education, talent development, intercultural communication, professional standards, and skills for digital and green transitions. Roundtables will further consider regional policy cooperation and tourism education in the AI era.
Extended abstracts should contain 800–1,000 words, excluding references, with up to five keywords. Submissions are accepted in Chinese or English through Microsoft CMT. Full papers are optional for conference participation but required for consideration for the Best Paper Award or potential journal publication. English full papers should contain 5,000–9,000 words, including references, and follow APA 7th edition. Journal publication remains subject to peer review and acceptance.
