The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) will bring its flagship Global Summit to Valletta, Malta, from October 7–9, 2026, gathering the world’s most influential tourism leaders for three days of high-level discussions on the future of travel and tourism. The event marks the 26th edition of the WTTC Global Summit and is expected to be the largest tourism conference ever hosted in the Maltese Islands.

Hosted by the Government of Malta, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, and the Malta Tourism Authority, the summit will convene ministers, chief executives, destination management organizations, investors, and international media representatives from around the globe. Organizers describe the event as a unique platform for shaping policies, strengthening partnerships, and addressing the most pressing challenges facing the tourism sector.

The summit’s agenda is expected to focus on key themes including innovation, sustainability, resilience, investment, and long-term growth. Industry leaders will examine how destinations and businesses can adapt to evolving traveler expectations while advancing responsible tourism practices and leveraging new technologies to enhance competitiveness.

Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage city renowned for its cultural heritage and Mediterranean charm, will provide the backdrop for the gathering. The event is anticipated to further strengthen Malta’s position as a leading international tourism destination and a growing center for tourism policy dialogue.

According to WTTC projections, travel and tourism are expected to contribute approximately €3.6 billion to Malta’s economy, while supporting one in every five jobs in the country. Officials believe hosting the summit will generate additional economic benefits and create new opportunities for international collaboration and investment.

As global tourism continues to evolve, the WTTC Global Summit 2026 is expected to play a significant role in defining the industry’s future direction and strengthening cooperation between public and private sector stakeholders worldwide.
