Morocco Supports Digital Tourism Projects with Grants of Up to MAD 400,000

Morocco’s Société Marocaine d’Ingénierie Touristique (SMIT) has established an incubation and investment support programme targeting 60 digital tourism projects. Selected initiatives can receive grants of up to MAD 400,000 each, alongside mentoring and assistance through to operational launch.

The programme aims to improve tourism services and visitor experiences, particularly within hotels and accommodation establishments. Priority is given to interactive and personalised digital solutions that enhance guests’ stays.

Eligibility extends to individuals and companies seeking to develop digital tourism activities in Morocco. Project leaders must demonstrate relevant professional experience or training, while proposed activities should serve major tourism destinations or locations attracting substantial visitor numbers.

Beyond financial assistance, participants receive coaching, mentoring, support with market entry and distribution, and guidance on securing additional finance. Grant awards depend on project eligibility and assessment by the relevant committees.

The digital tourism component forms part of a broader programme targeting 360 projects, including 200 in Moroccan gastronomy and 100 in leisure gamification.

SMIT’s published programme update states that projects selected under earlier calls are progressing to financing assessment after completing incubation activities. Prospective applicants should therefore check with SMIT regarding any new intake or application timetable.
