The Outdoor Recreation Network (ORN) will host an online webinar titled “Beyond Access: Building Belonging and Participation in the Outdoors” on November 3, 2026.

The session will examine how outdoor organisations can address cultural and structural barriers, build community trust and encourage sustained participation in outdoor recreation.

Speakers include Mohammed Dhalech of Mosaic Outdoors, a PhD researcher at the University of Leicester, and Professor Nasreen Ali of the University of Bedfordshire. Their presentations will explore race, rural belonging and the development of inclusive green spaces through research and community collaboration.

Tara (Taz) Hansford of the National Trust will chair the webinar. A facilitated discussion will address community leadership, organisational change and ways to assess progress towards inclusion. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions.
