UN Tourism will host a regional webinar titled “Accessible Tourism as a Strategic Opportunity for the Middle East” on Monday, 14 December 2026.

The online event will take place from 11:00 to 12:15 CET (13:00–14:15 Türkiye time) and will be delivered in English and Arabic, with interpretation between the two languages.

The webinar will examine how accessible tourism can support inclusion, destination competitiveness and sustainable development. Discussions will consider how infrastructure and services meeting the needs of people with disabilities and older travellers can improve visitor experiences, attract additional markets and strengthen tourism economies.

Designed for tourism authorities and industry stakeholders across the Middle East, the programme will combine awareness-raising with practical approaches to developing accessible products and services. It will also explore responsibilities throughout the tourism value chain and the skills needed to translate accessibility commitments into action.

Collaboration with people with disabilities and their representative organisations will be a central consideration in developing solutions that respond to actual needs.

The event takes place during the twentieth anniversary year of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
