Academic News

The University of Queensland (UQ) is accepting applications for its Business School Postgraduate Coursework Master’s Scholarship, which includes students pursuing the Master of Tourism, Hotel and Event Management. Applications close on 19 July 2027.

Up to four scholarships may be awarded annually, each providing a one-off A$5,000 contribution towards tuition fees. The scheme also covers the Master of Business, Master of Business Analytics, Master of Commerce, and Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Eligibility is restricted to domestic students. UQ defines this category as Australian or New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, and holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas.

Applicants must provide a CV, two written references and supporting evidence of employment, voluntary work or other relevant achievements. A video personal statement lasting no more than five minutes must explain their motivation for postgraduate study, career ambitions, an obstacle they have overcome, and their contribution to their workplace or community.

Selection will consider academic achievement, professional or voluntary experience, community involvement and the personal statement. Applicants may also explain circumstances such as financial hardship or caring responsibilities.

The published scholarship rules exclude applicants already receiving another scholarship or income support. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress, and the award cannot be deferred.

Full eligibility requirements and application instructions are available on the official UQ scholarship page.
