Countries represent fundamental units of tourism activity, serving as destinations, source markets, and policy environments that shape the development of tourism. Entries prepared for The Encyclopedia of World Tourism should present the relevant country in an objective, academic, and source-based manner. The entry should examine the country’s geographical, historical, cultural, economic, and political characteristics as they relate to tourism. Where applicable, attention should also be given to tourism resources, attractions, infrastructure, visitor markets, tourism policies, industry performance, sustainability initiatives, and current trends. All information should be supported by reliable and up-to-date sources and reflect the country’s position within the global tourism system.

Entry Format

1) Entry Title [Country Name]
(If necessary, the official name of the country may be provided in parentheses.)

2) Introductory Statement (Descriptive Sentence)
The introductory statement should not exceed 250 characters.
In one or two sentences, briefly summarize the country’s geographical location, its distinctive tourism characteristics, and its significance in international tourism.

The main text must contain at least 600 words.
