Writing Guidelines for “Events”
Events are important components of the tourism system, attracting visitors, enhancing destination image, and generating economic, social, and cultural benefits. Entries prepared for The Encyclopedia of World Tourism should present the relevant event in an objective, academic, and source-based manner. The entry should examine the event’s history, purpose, scale, location, organizational structure, and significance within tourism. Where applicable, attention should also be given to visitor participation, economic and socio-cultural impacts, destination branding, sustainability practices, and future development trends. All information should be supported by reliable and up-to-date sources and reflect the event’s role in regional, national, or international tourism.
